During the spring of 2019, the VSBA requested proposals for the second annual Excellence in Workforce Readiness Award. The award was established to showcase school divisions who are implementing innovative programs designed to prepare students for workforce readiness. In May, the programs underwent review by a five-judge panel and today three programs are being recognized for their Excellence in Workforce Readiness. Your students deserve the best that we as School Board members can provide in Workforce Readiness opportunities. VSBA is showcasing the following programs: Dinwiddie County-“#CTE4ALL”; Isle of Wight County-“Incorporating Authenticity into CTE Programs”; and Henrico County- “Setting the Bar High: CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day”. Come, see and learn what these school divisions have done and what your school division can also implement.
