This session will provide an overview of Winchester Public Schools comprehensive Equity Framework including AMPedUp! which was an NSBA 2019 Magna Award winning program for divisions under 5,000 students. Using data to identify under-represented minorities with potential for advanced math, students are invited to participate in a STEM program that builds teamwork among the students and helps them see themselves as successful in math. During enrichment time, students meet with a math teacher, working cooperatively to solve problems. One of the goals of AMPedUp! is to encourage all students in the program to take Algebra I in 8th grade which will allow them to take advanced math in high school.
