After two terms as a school board leader in Richmond, Kim Bridges worked in state education policy and earned a doctorate in Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Today she works to bridge scholarship with leadership to improve K12 governance and policies in school systems shaped by long histories of resource inequity and racial and socio-economic segregation. She is Assistant Professor and Co-Coordinator of the EdD Program in K12 Leadership in the Department of Education Leadership at the VCU School of Education.
